For over two decades, Lieutenant Colonel Vevina Wilson has dedicated her life to the service of the United States. As a decorated U.S. Army Reserve officer, she has forged a unique and distinguished path combining two demanding fields: Military Intelligence and Registered Nursing. With deployments to global hotspots as a Special Operations Intelligence Analyst and a celebrated career in military medicine, Lt. Col. Wilson embodies leadership, resilience, and a profound commitment to her country and the health of its defenders.

On the Front Lines of Defense As a Military Intelligence (MI) Voice Intercept Operator and Intelligence Analyst, Lt. Col. Wilson has operated at the sharp end of national security. She has been mobilized numerous times, deploying to critical zones in Syria and Iraq with Special Operations units. Her work has been instrumental in providing actionable intelligence to protect U.S. forces and advance strategic objectives. Her service has taken her to more than 15 countries, giving her a vast, firsthand perspective on global defense dynamics.

A Leader in Military and Public Health Parallel to her intelligence career, Lt. Col. Wilson has excelled in military medicine. Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master’s Degree in Health Education, her expertise is both practical and academic. Her extensive experience in high-pressure trauma units prepared her for leadership roles where she has made a significant impact.

In a landmark achievement, she serves as a Surgeon General of the U.S. Army, becoming one of the few non-physicians and non-males to hold such a high-ranking position in the Army’s medical department. Her civilian work further reflects this commitment, having served as a Program Manager for the Public Health Division of the Defense Health Agency.

A Legacy of Leadership and Recognition Lt. Col. Wilson’s leadership has been formally recognized on numerous occasions. She is a recipient of the prestigious Society of Trauma Nurses Leadership Award. Furthermore, her courage and clear-headed action during the September 11th attacks earned her special recognition for her response at the Pentagon.

Personal Life Now based at Fort MacArthur in San Pedro, California, Vevina is the proud mother of her daughter, Maria Wilson.
